I vividly remember my first day on the job. On that day, everyone seemed to be experts in SOAP writing except me! 

I wanted to write everything the patient was telling -- everywhere! But I soon realized that I needed a better system, especially If I was to survive actual clinical practice. 

In NP school, you learn to write all these long, extensive progress notes that in the real clinical setting might not be practical. 

But don't worry... I soon got the hang of things and realized I needed to structure my documentation skills to be successful. 

So, this week I decided to share a thing or two on how to write a good SOAP note.
